I heared of mortis and his work from a fan on the Final Fighting Fantasy message boards. this movie and many of his others i seen long before he ever heared the name 'newgrounds' or 'SplashKhat' its entirely not possible that he or i could of thieved from eachother. actually we've been colaborating latley on a peice i have in progress. just enjoy his work for what it is, i do ^^.

Now i wanna go watch the kenshin OAV, similar feeling.. ya should of synched the music, it helps to chug those frames along, but it was still good.. the only bad part i can note is the spearmen, they were so inept.. i took a short class in using polearms and after 4 weeks i could of took those guys by myself.

id save this movie till your more familar with flash and have experimented on a few techniques. i made alot of 'does'nt do anything' movies (none of which will ever be uploaded) before i tryed anything with story... just trust your instict on what you think is good work and find your 'style'. try skipping a demo and just showoff a complete movie next time.
Does it looked rushed? If it does, say so, I've only had Flash for about 15 day now, so I'm really inexperienced at it, hence no loading scene at the front of the movie. I will definitely work on the movie alot, but rmember THIS IS NOT THE WHOLE MOVIE, it's the first 40 seconds, of about 10 minutes...maybe..(hopefully...haha!) Anyways, by the time I'm done with this movie, the beginning and end will look totally different probably, since I'll have learned more about Flash at the end, but I'm learning something new every day, and will most likely change this scene around a bit as well in the end.
2 quick things.
when the car went by and the shadow of the pole/man tweened. you could clean that up by...
[modify>transform>edit center] on the graphic of the shadow. and place the 'center' on the right side of the graphic somewhere between the man and the pole.
second i just expected a little more plot about 'the money'. looks to me like you got bored with how it was turning out, and perhaps quit? this good be a good peice with a little more work.

it a bad trend happening here where people are 'demoing' stuff. i liked the OG maxx cartoon, you should try to complete this. but take a month or two, whatever, its better to leave us with something that we did'nt know was comming (and complete). rather then just a work in progres where we cant wait till its done.

first the characters and story look inspired from games like oni and anime like flame of recca. second you did all the cheap tricks like make the main character the cute one and even show her off a bit. as for the duel i was routing for the 'bad' guy just cause he's the better fighter. the way you blatently say 'if it runs slow on your computer i made it with a gigaherz..' makes you look like you think your the shit.. your not.. you've got 'some' skill. try doing something that hasnt been done a million times over in japanese anime. dont be a crowd pleaser, do something from the heart. i still gave you a high score cause its nice work, just try to use newgrounds to polish your skills more. (thats what i feel its all for anyway)

it changed from a peice of inspiration into just a plain ol lesson. perhaps if you used less explanation and used the animation to express your thoughts it would have a better overall impact.
